The home of The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, in Covent Garden, on a site where theatres have stood since the eighteenth century. The present building opened in 1858, with a red and gold auditorium and the glass-roofed Floral Hall. It stages some of the world's best opera and ballet, and offers backstage tours on selected days.
