About Plan a Weekend
Plan a Weekend helps couples, families and friends in the UK find things to do: castles, museums, galleries, zoos, theme parks, gardens, activities, and comedy and theatre events, with maps, opening details and links to book.
What we are, and what we are not
We are a guide. We do not sell tickets and we are not the seller: when you choose to book, you go to the seller's own website and buy from them. Prices, availability and booking terms are theirs.
Where our information comes from
- Places come from OpenStreetMap, a map built by volunteers (© OpenStreetMap contributors, open data licence ODbL).
- Short facts about a place, such as the year it was established or its heritage status, come from Wikidata (CC0, free to reuse). Where a place has a Wikipedia article we link to it; we do not copy its text.
- Photos come from Wikimedia Commons, only where the photographer's licence allows reuse. Every photo shows who took it, under which licence, with a link to its page.
- Events and tickets come from ticket sellers' own listings.
Information in open sources can be incomplete or out of date. Where we do not know something, such as opening hours, we leave it out rather than guess. Always check the place's own website before you travel.
Spotted a mistake?
Tell us at [email protected] with the page address and what is wrong, and we will correct it. If you run a place and want its details corrected or removed, write to us from your work address. You can also fix the underlying data yourself: places can be edited on OpenStreetMap and Wikidata, and the change reaches us the next time we update.
How we are paid
Some links to ticket sellers are affiliate links: if you book after clicking one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our affiliate disclosure.
