Better known as the Scottish National Gallery, a neoclassical building on The Mound designed by William Henry Playfair and opened in 1859. It displays Scottish and European art from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century, including the much-loved painting The Skating Minister by Henry Raeburn. The setting in Princes Street Gardens adds to the visit.
