A hillside zoo on Corstorphine Hill, run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, which opened in 1913. Its paths climb through animal enclosures with views over the city, and it has a long history of caring for penguins. A visit involves some uphill walking, which is worth knowing if you are bringing a pushchair.
