A thirteenth-century fortress on the north Wales coast, built by Edward the First between 1283 and 1289 with eight great towers. Together with the walls that still surround the town, it is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can climb the towers and walk the battlements for views over the estuary and the mountains of Snowdonia.
