A grand stately home in North Yorkshire designed by Sir John Vanbrugh for the Earl of Carlisle in the late seventeenth century. Its great domed hall and formal gardens are among the finest in England, and it was the setting for the television and film versions of Brideshead Revisited. The estate also has a lake, woodland and the Temple of the Four Winds.
