Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's musical, set in Saigon at the end of the Vietnam War, about a young Vietnamese woman, Kim, and the American soldier she falls in love with. It is inspired by Puccini's Madama Butterfly and is known for its powerful score and big, dramatic staging. A sweeping, emotional show about love and the cost of war.
