Anais Mitchell's folk opera retells the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, with a New Orleans-style band and a story set between a hard world above and Hades' factory-like underworld below. Orpheus is a poor musician who goes to bring his love back from the dead. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 2019. Moody, musical and moving.
