Kander and Ebb's musical set in a seedy Berlin nightclub in the early 1930s, as the Nazis rise to power. The Kit Kat Club's master of ceremonies and the singer Sally Bowles offer glittering escape while the world outside darkens. Based on Christopher Isherwood's Berlin stories, it mixes dazzling numbers such as Willkommen with a serious and disturbing story. Not one for young children.
