With music by Elton John and a book and lyrics by Lee Hall, from his film, this is the story of an eleven-year-old boy in a County Durham mining town in 1984 who discovers he would rather dance ballet than box. Set against the miners' strike, it is a moving tale of ambition, family and community, with some memorable dance numbers.
