Sunday 18 April 2027 Doors: 7.30pm | Music: 8pm Join us aboard The Golden Hinde for an evening of live music with TV Smith, pioneering punk musician, songwriter and founding member of legendary British punk band The Adverts. Formed in 1976, The Adverts were at the forefront of the first wave of British punk rock, making their mark with iconic singles including Gary Gilmore's Eyes, One Chord Wonders and No Time To Be 21. Their 1978 debut album, Crossing the Red Sea with The Adverts, remains widely regarded as one of the defining records of the punk era. Following the band's split in 1979, TV Smith continued to forge his own path, establishing himself as one of punk's most enduring and fiercely independent performers. From fronting TV Smith's Explorers and Cheap to building an acclaimed solo career, his music has remained rooted in the raw energy, honesty and rebellious spirit of punk. Now performing primarily as a solo acoustic artist, TV Smith has toured extensively across the UK, Europe, the Americas and Japan, sharing stages with the likes of The Damned, Stiff Little Fingers and Ruts DC. His latest album, Handwriting (2024), recorded in collaboration with producer and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Diver, explores an entirely new musical landscape while retaining the powerful songwriting that has defined his career. Don't miss this opportunity to experience one of British punk's most influential voices up close, performing live in the atmospheric surroundings of our historic Tudor galleon.
