Cast and Inspiral Carpets Set to Kick Off a Huge Weekend of Live Music in Rhyl.
Arena Mike Peters in the Queen's Market in Rhyl is delighted to present a fantastic night in January on Thursday 14th January 2027. Britpop giants Cast and the Inspiral Carpets are set to share the stage at the newly named Arena Mike Peters for a brilliant night from two legendary artists.
Liverpool Britpop greats Cast return to Rhyl for the first time since 2022 to team up with the Inspiral Carpets for what promises to be a treat for all fans, originally formed in 1992, Cast came from the ashes of two of the most lauded British guitar bands of all time: The La's and Shack. Cast released four albums, the second Mother Nature Calls also went platinum (three of them top 10), and had ten top 10 singles, before disbanding in 2001. All Change became the biggest selling debut album of all time for Polydor Records.Labelled "The Who of the 90s", Noel Gallagher once described watching Cast play live as "a religious experience," later inviting them to support Oasis on tour throughout their highly anticipated comeback in 2025. Following the release of their UK Top 10 album Yeah Yeah Yeah in 2026, Cast announced a UK tour for October of that year with dates in Leeds, London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle and of course, their hometown of Liverpool.
One of Manchester's finest bands Inspiral Carpets are selling out tours and underlining their undying popularity, whilst creating a platform for a rumoured new album to add to their set, Inspiral Carpets live show is dotted with inventive big songs built around their signature Farfisa and perfect harmonies that always brings the house down. Their hit singles underlined their electric, eclectic creativity from the punk rock rushes of Joe to the melancholic kitchen sink dramas turned into huge hits like the glorious 'This Is How It Feels'. Then there are the soaring choruses of 'Saturn 5' or the thrilling pop noise of 'I Want You' with the late and great Mark E. Smith lending his classic snarky sneer to the song. In 2023 that the band had decided to reform again which was greeted with an adulation that surprised Clint Boon. 'When we made the decision, in the autumn of 2022, to get the Inspirals back on the road, none of us could have imagined the incredible reception we would get, not just in the UK, but in all the other countries we were lucky to visit. It's heart-warming to know that our music still resonates with people of all ages after all these years.' This standalone show kick starts a wonderful weekend of Live Music at the Arena Mike Peters with The Gathering starting on Friday 15th January. Announcing the concert, Dylan Evans, General Manager at Queen's Market said, "This is a great coup for Arena Mike Peters and we're delighted to be able to host such a fantastic line up that we know Mike would have loved. There's been some fantastic support from a number of stakeholders to make this all happen. We'd particularly like to thank the support of Rhyl Town Council, Denbighshire County Council and Arena Projects as well as of course Jules, Dylan and Evan Peters." Town Clerk, Helen Mead, said Rhyl was heralding in a new era of music and shows with the Queen's Market at the heart of the offering, "Having a new, dedicated and event-ready space for known and upcoming bands is wonderful. Rhyl has always had its own beat with music at the very heart of it. To be welcoming Cast and Inspiral Carpets for a special one-off concert is great for the town and will be a welcome injection for the local economy. "The council has been reviewing its priorities and looking at where it can best support and help the town. Events is one of those areas and so we are pleased to be contributing to what promises to be a significant and exciting occasion for Rhyl." Councillor Brian Jones, Denbighshire's Cabinet Lead Member for Finance, Assets and Local Economy said, "We are delighted to support the Arena Mike Peters Presents concert. Queen's Market is a flagship regeneration project for Rhyl and, one year on from opening, it is already proving to be a popular attraction for both residents and visitors. Bringing high-quality performers to this fantastic venue will help further establish Arena Mike Peters as a leading entertainment destination in North Wales. Naming the venue in honour of Mike Peters is a fitting tribute to his incredible legacy, and events like this will ensure his name continues to inspire and bring people together for years to come."Commenting on the forthcoming concert, Jules Jones Peters said, "Myself, Dylan and Evan are so excited to build on this for the future and look forward to attracting great talent to Rhyl." Tickets for the show are on sale from 10:00AM Friday 30th October 2026.
